Our Musculoskeletal Practitioners are qualified cliniains who can provide assessment, investigations, support and treatment for:

Clinical Pharmacist

Our Clinical Pharmacists are registered Pharmacists who work within GP practices to assist patients with:

  • Medication reviews
  • Medication side effects
  • Reductions of medications

Coil Fitting

Our Coil Specialist GP can fit coils for contraceptive and HRT use.

You will be counselled first to decide whether a coil is the best method for you, and then have a fitting appointment at a later date.

Please note that the GP is accompanied by our Coil Clinic Chaperone during the fitting appointment.

There's a range of coils that can be fitted which last between 5 and 10 years. There are options of giving non-hormonal contraception for those who would prefer it as a contraception option, or targeted hormonal contraception which is the recommended treatment for controlling heavy periods. We also have coil options that can be used as part of HRT.

Our Health and Wellbeing Coaches can assess and assist you with:

  • New type 2 diabetes diagnoses
  • Mental health wellbeing
  • Supporting you to access wellbeing and health services

C-Card (Condom Card) Scheme

C-Card stands for Condom Card. It is a free and confidential service offering condoms to young people aged 13-24, regardless of gender or sexuality. C-Card is available at a variety of venues across Northumberland, and online to those aged 18 and over. You do not need to be sexually active to access C-Card.

The Gables Medical Group is a service venue for the C-Card scheme. You can turn up at the surgery between 09:00-16:00, or you can call us to arrange a time slot if you prefer to avoid asking for the service at the reception desk.
